I pushed to get Francis onto my second feature in 2015 after meeting him only a few months prior; as well as being highly skilled, he has an easy manner with cast and is a delight on set, a total asset for any production.

Francis Byrne was nominated for an AACTA Award for his sound recording on my first feature, Killing Ground. He well deserved it. The film was entirely shot on location in a park next door to the Holdsworth Army Base (where they conducted regular live fire exercises). We were triangulated between three airports and surrounded by locals on trail bikes. Nonetheless, Francis somehow managed to get beautiful sound every single day. I love his work!'

Francis is an incredibly talented and dedicated Sound Recordist. I would not hesitate to recommend him to any production. Over the past few years, Francis has become my go-to Sound Recordist as he has proven time and time again to have the right temperament to handle the high pressures of a film set. From travelling around the world on demanding schedules to shooting in the deeps of the Rainforest, Francis has shown that he is up for any task. For me, having the opportunity to surround a production with collaborators that have a 'can do', positive attitude is incredibly important and for this reason, I would be happy to have him involved in any of my productions.

COMPOSING FOR SCREEN

Music has been a huge part of my life since I was a child. Composing is something that has been a very natural and important form of expression for me, and especially as a storytelling device.
